Sharelle Thompson
Exhibition: Unraveling the Cycle
June 25 - July 19, 2025
In Unraveling the Cycle, Sharelle Thompson blends photography, film, and immersive installation to share her personal experience with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) while raising awareness, particularly among Black women. The exhibition features an interactive gallery recreating intimate spaces like a bedroom and bathroom, layered with audio narratives and text that reveal the emotional toll of PMDD. Visitors are invited to engage with the installation and leave reflections, fostering empathy and solidarity. By raising awareness and fostering empathy, Unraveling the Cycle invites audiences to see the invisible, recognize others’ pain, and connect through shared humanity.
