Hank Bamberger
Exhibition: Feckoned Point
April 16 - May 10, 2025
Hank Bamberger’s residency at Akron Soul Train will explore the creation of immersive queer ecosystems that challenge societal norms, celebrate excess, and transform mundane objects into bold, dystopian landscapes. Drawing on materials like plastics, ropes, and everyday objects, Bamberger will construct ornate installations that pulse with tension, beauty, and rebellion, likened to the elaborate nesting spaces of a male bird of paradise.
The centerpiece of this work will be a 1.5–2-hour performance merging avant-garde choreography, projection, and film to create an immersive, multi-sensory experience. An acclaimed choreographer and researcher, Bamberger’s work bridges conceptual art, experimental dance, and queer aesthetics.
